About Us

Mother nature forms the base of traditional knowledge. It proudly bespoke of the potential of traditional products towards a sustainable future. Mati is an attempt to bring an array of such vibrant products under the same roof. Through this site, we have attempted to capture a glimpse of various traditional visual art forms of the state of Chattisgarh. The concept of the site was conceived and jotted down by Debarati Chakraborty. The site was developed by Abhik Sarkar and Debarati Chakraborty.
Debarati Chakraborty is a researcher with multiple interests. She is involved in understanding the crop domestication and diversification scenario in India by using clues from genetics, archaeology, anthropology, and traditional cultural practices. Her other interests include toxic trace metal bioremediation, effects of pollutions and climate change on socio-ecological services rendered by wetlands and mangroves.

 Abhik Sarkar is the founder of a web portal (https://www.ebongin.com) which promotes the rich cultural heritage of Bengal and also provides a platform for the sellers to sell their products. His specializations are Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media optimization (SMO).
