The traditional ornaments of Chhattisgarh include bronze, silver ornaments. The bronze ornaments (eg. penjna, perri) however have become rare. They are still made in the Bastar, Kondagaon, Barkai, and Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh by Ghadwa tribes. Some of the old, traditional ornaments include kardhan, phully, painjna, bidhu, tora, and maldar. Moreover, some of these traditional ornaments ensure physical well being. Charpatta or kardhan wore at the waist is one such ornament recommended to young mothers to avoid post-delivery flabbiness of the stomach.
